Fleet 40 from gps.at, a modern telematics unit, is mounted in the cockpit of a current Scania truck (2025/26 model year). Neon-orange data streams flow from the vehicle’s instrument panel into the device, visualizing the intelligent connectivity between trucks and buses. GPS signals are transmitted to the satellite—an ideal representation for digital logbooks, fleet management, and telematics.

Fleet-40 GPS tracking device

The Fleet-40 is a GPS tracking device of the latest telematics generation for trucks, winter service vehicles or buses. The Fleet-40 supports data transmission via future-proof 4G (LTE Cat 1), 3G (UMTS) and 2G (GSM). It combines maximum accuracy, reliability and flexibility with important extensions (FMS data, speedometer download, RS232 input, Bluetooth beacons).

The Fleet-40 is the successor model for replacing the Fleet-10 (2G-GPRS) and Fleet-15 (2G-GPRS), it has external GPS antennas and a 4G modem for data transmission.

Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 is also used to detect and transmit Bluetooth beacons (identification of small devices, tools, etc.)

  • 550 mAh internal backup battery (sufficient for 6-24 hours)
  • External GPS, Glonass and Galileo antenna for precise positioning
  • Connection of 1wire temperature sensors
  • Ignition plus 3 digital inputs (private switch, blue light insert, work signals) and analog signals
