Unlocking vehicles without a key
The digital key box offers several advantages for fleet managers when opening and locking vehicles compared to the familiar search for vehicle keys. Vehicles parked in parking lots can be opened by staff or employees using the app without the employee having to pick up the key first. The employee comes to the vehicle and opens it using the smartphone app. This solves many annoying problems with company vehicles that are parked at train stations, for example, and are used by different travelers.
The fleet manager can set in the GPS Fleet software which driver has access to which vehicle and when, or the driver only has access to the vehicle if there is an active pool car reservation. This prevents the vehicle from no longer being at the location because other employees are on the road with it at short notice.
The key box is easiest to use in vehicles with “Keyless Go”, i.e. where the driver does not have to insert the key into the ignition. But it also works with conventional keys and vehicles.
What is particularly important: no expensive installation or connection to the vehicle electronics is required to open the vehicle.
