Employees can simply take a photo of their driver’s license using their smartphone, eliminating the need for manual checks. With the support of artificial intelligence, the software automatically checks the expiration date, ensures that the driver’s license is available and lists all driver’s licenses in descending order by expiration date. Upcoming expiration dates are highlighted visually to remind you in good time of upcoming checks. The system automatically documents each check, sends reminders and guarantees complete traceability. Employers benefit from significant time savings, legal certainty and reduced administrative effort, while checks can be carried out anytime and anywhere.

First, all drivers who are to be subjected to a digital driver’s license check, including the driver’s license types, must be stored in the system – this can be done conveniently via interfaces. The intervals (e.g. annually, every six months, every 2 months, daily) at which the driver’s license check is to be carried out are then defined. On the day of the check, the driver receives a link by e-mail. After clicking on the link, the next steps are explained step by step by the GPS Fleet software. The driver first takes a photo of the front and then the back of the license. The check starts automatically. If the check fails (e.g. expired driver’s license or blurred photos), the fleet manager is notified by e-mail. They can check and approve the images manually in the software or request an additional on-site check.

The digital driver’s license check records the relevant driver’s license data, such as the driver’s name, license number, expiration date and license type. In addition, photos of the front and back of the driver’s license are stored to validate the check.
